Introducing our Head Chef, Prasad Chavan

A culinary master hailing from Mumbai, India. Growing up near the Atlantic Ocean instilled in him a lifelong love for seafood and spices. He pursued his passion for the culinary arts by earning a Bachelor's degree in Hotel Management and Tourism from Mumbai University.

Chef Prasad's extensive experience in the culinary world includes working as a cook at JW Marriott in India and on Royal Caribbean International Cruise Lines. He immigrated to Canada in 2011, and has since honed his skills at various reputable brands such as Moxies, Fairmount Park Lodge, The Hotel Saskatchewan, Executive Royal Hotel Regina, Hecla Resort, Inn and Suites FSJ across the provinces. In 2019, he was given the opportunity to lead as an executive chef at a Best Western hotel (97 street PUB) in Kelowna, where he discovered a love for wine which led him to work at a winery.

When not in the kitchen, Prasad relishes spending time with his family, being on dad duty and enjoying being a father. He also enjoys exploring the Okanagan valley, where he sources local ingredients to elevate his culinary techniques.

"Hello fellow neighbours. You may have heard of a new venture by Rose Hill Orchards. Every weekend, Friday, Saturday and Sunday, the chef cooks up one delicious dinner. There is no big menu but the food is amazing. Tonight we had the butter chicken, basmati rice and naan bread. Dinner for two for $35. Next week is Turkey dinner. Support local. So, so good."
